Commitment
A New Commitment
We are in the 2nd month of this new year. But we have time in the months left in this year to make a new commitment.
One gift that God gives to us (that we sometimes take for granted) is time. Some may think of time as the enemy, the “ager,” the robber of health and mind. But time is given for the benefit of each of us. When God created the heavens and the earth and said, “So the evening and the morning were the first day,” that was when time began. Genesis 1:5. As you read the words of this article moments, seconds and minutes are passing. Also, each moment is a gift from God.
Lift Yourself From Dispair
As you think over the past year, you may bring to mind times of sadness, heartache, and disappointment. But those times of sorrow also serve to generate a reference point of contrast for a deeper appreciation for times of happiness and joy.
Now, God in His great mercy, grace and love, has provided you with the dawning of a new year. As this new year is before us it is made up of 4 seasons, 12 months, 52 weeks, 365 days, 8,760 hours, 525,600 minutes and 31,536,000 seconds. How will we spend those seconds?
Salvation Commitment
The apostle wrote in 2 Corinthians 13:5. Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
If you are not as yet a Christian, you need so very much to obey Jesus in all He has commanded. Believe in Him. Repent of past sins. Confess Him before men. Be baptized into Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Remain faithful in His body, the church, until our seconds, minutes, hours and days are finished. Then we will hear Jesus say, “Enter into life everlasting.”

YOU MUST DO THESE THINGS to Become a Christian
Becoming a Christian, Saved, Born Again, In Christ, or becoming a new creature all talk about salvation.
1) You must believe and confess that Jesus is the son of God. John 8:24 Jesus said you must believe that He is the Christ the Son of the living God. Matthew 10:32-33, Acts 8:36-37 further tells us to confess that Jesus is God’s son.
2) Luke 13:3 Jesus said you must repent of your sins.
3) Mark 16:16 Jesus said you must be baptized.
4) Live faithfully unto death. 1 John 1:2
As a new creature, a Christian, we will live faithfully unto death and then arise to live forever with God. This is the God who loves you, who wants you to be his child. You can become the child of a King!
Won’t you heed His word?
