Gospel

Into Our Hands the Gospel Has Been Given

The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God; As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare the way before thee. Mark 1:1,2.

John then began preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, saying one is coming after me, that is greater than me, Him shall ye hear. Then John was cast into prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God. Mark 1:3-14.

What is it?

The gospel is God’s power to save them that believe. Romans 1:16. It is no wonder then, that Jesus gave this order to His apostles in the great commission of Mark 16:15,16. Jesus said, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believes and is baptized shall be saved and he that does not believe shall be damned.”

Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, that the gospel was the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. This was the message that Jesus said to go and preach.

Now let us look at our text: 1 Thessalonians 2:4. But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which try’s our hearts.

We that are His children, are we preaching the gospel? Are we going to teach the gospel to others? Remember, God put the gospel into our hands.

Conclusion

Galatians 1:6-10 “I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ, but though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.”

The world cannot be saved with “A watered down gospel”. “Or by good words and fair speeches that deceive the hearts of the simple.” Romans 16:18.
