Purpose of the Church

First of all, as part of God’s Church, our primary reason to meet together within the church building is to focus our attention on God, worshiping Him, and receiving His blessings and inspiration.

The study of the Bible is a necessity because we believe it is the inspired word of God and man’s path to everlasting salvation. Hence, the teachings found therein are just as relevant today as they were when inspired men of God penned them.

A great amount of effort is expended to create opportunities for all to minister to their Lord. Through Bible classes, fellowships, and special activities we strive to make it possible for each to enrich their lives and their service to God.

We believe that Christian fellowship is a key part in our becoming pleasing to God. The encouragement we receive from fellow Christians gives us strength each day. Perhaps someone in our congregation is waiting to become your very best friend.

Christ came to serve. By service to others, we are being Christ like. Service to others fulfills our purpose in life. We try to provide opportunities for service to God and man.

Finally, we believe that people who are Christians are the church. We meet in a building which some call the church, however we could just as well “go to church” at other locations. Hence, God’s Church consists of people who have declared they believe in Christ as Lord and Savior; have been Baptised in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit; and follow His teachings.

Our Invitation

A special invitation is given to you from every member of the Ridgeway Church of Christ to come and visit with us. Are you looking for a place to learn about God and fellowship with others? We hope you will consider the Ridgeway congregation as your new church home. If you are seeking the True Way of Jesus Christ, we offer you an opportunity to study and learn more about Him. Most of all, PLEASE let us know if we can help you in any way.

Join us in any of our services. You are welcomed here. Come as you are.

Our Worship Services

Worship is based upon the pattern of the Lord’s Church as revealed to us in the New Testament. We assemble ourselves together for worship upon the first day of every week (Hebrews 10:24-25). Our worship includes singing and praying together (Ephesians 5:19-20), partaking of the Lord’s supper (I Corinthians 10:16), and the preaching of God’s Word (Acts 20:7). It is our purpose to give God all the glory.

Our Bible Classes

Sunday and Wednesday evening Bible classes are dedicated to the teaching of God’s Word. Children’s classes are arranged according to common age groups from infants to teens. Adult classes are also taught. There is a Bible class for you and every member of your family at Ridgeway.

In conclusion, we believe in God, we believe in the Bible as God’s word, we believe that Christ is our Lord and Savior. As God’s Church, it is our duty to serve the Lord and to bring others into the church through Christ’s salvation. Therefore it is incumbent upon us to continually study the Bible, for it is necessary to become more Christ like and closer to God so that we can appropriately serve Him.
