Heart

A Look at the Heart of Man

First of all, in our journey through life, our heart must be right with God. In Romans 10:10 “For with the HEART man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Also, in Genesis 6:5 is the first time the heart is mentioned in the Bible. “And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his HEART was evil continually.” Finally, in Jeremiah 17:9 “The HEART is deceitful above all, and desperately wicked; who can know it?”

Definition

The Hebrew word for the heart is labe. In the Bible, the heart is said to be “kind,” “courageous,” “friendly” and “merry.” It also said to be “stiff,” “hard,” and above all it is evil. Consequently. it is also easy to be deceived and lied too.

Genesis 6:6 “And the Lord, was sorry the He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.” Therefore, the people’s heart needed an operation to remove the disease. So, the flood came to cleanse the earth and to provide the healing that was necessary.

Renewal

Most noteworthy, after this drastic operation, God placed a rainbow in the sky, as a reminder of His promise that He would never perform such drastic surgery in this manner again. The rainbow was a sign, not only of God’s promise, but the colors of red, pink, orange, blue, yellow, green and indigo are all soft, soothing, and provide hope and healing to a troubled heart. The rainbow shines for both man and God.

Heart trouble, biblically speaking, is seen in a variety of symptoms. Proverbs 23:7 says, “For as a man thinks in his heart, so he is.” Lust, envy, selfish, jealousies, foul language, hatred, gossip, lying, idolatry, fornication, adultery, murder and many such things.

Healthy Heart

So, a healthy HEART, biblically speaking, is one that loves God first and foremost every day and in every way. A healthy HEART is one that is one that has the hope of eternal life. It is the source and motivation for kindness, unselfishness, self-sacrifice, peace, longsuffering, goodness, faithfulness, graceful speech, a forgiving spirit and love.

Most of all, the great physician, Jesus Christ, can cure all heart disease. But only for those who come to him in faith and obedience to His will, and He will provide the healing that is needed. Just make sure that your HEART is right with God.

To be Saved and become a Christian – YOU MUST DO THESE THINGS

Becoming a Christian, Saved, Born Again, In Christ, or becoming a new creature all talk about salvation.

1) You must believe and confess that Jesus is the son of God. John 8:24 Jesus said you must believe that He is the Christ the Son of the living God. Matthew 10:32-33, Acts 8:36-37 further tells us to confess that Jesus is God’s son.

2) Luke 13:3 Jesus said you must repent of your sins.

3) Mark 16:16 Jesus said you must be baptized.

4) Live faithfully unto death. 1 John 1:2

As a new creature, a Christian, we will live faithfully unto death and then arise to live forever with God. This is the God who loves you, who wants you to be his child. You can become the child of a King!
