Standing for Truth

Speak Truth

Paul, the apostle of Jesus Christ, was at one time very wrong in his religious beliefs. But Paul became a Christian and from that time he was a defender of truth. In Galatians. 1:6-8 he wrote “I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.”

The first duty named in Paul’s first letter to Timothy was that he was to “charge some that they teach no other doctrine”. (1 Timothy 1:3) The apostle Paul knew there were “change agents” at Ephesus and knew that they would have to be reproved.

That which is to be spoken (taught) must be sound doctrine 1 Timothy 3:1. Any “other doctrine” is unsound; it is false doctrine.

Truth Corrects Division

In 1 Corinthians 1:10-13 Paul said that the answer to division is that they “all speak the same thing.” Common sense understands that if all speak the “same thing,” there is but one thing that ought to be spoken. In 1 Peter 4:11 Peter said, “If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God.”

Timothy and Titus knew the difference between sound doctrine and false doctrine. Apostolic doctrine is the only doctrine to be passed from group to group, from generation to generation. 2 Timothy 2:2. If anyone teaches “another doctrine”, we must not be silent.

There are many false doctrines in the world of religion, but regardless of how popular they may be, it is still false doctrine, based on the opinions of men. Jesus said, in John 8:32 “Ye shall know the truth and the truth will make you free.”

If we follow His word, not adding to or taking from, we will be okay.

YOU MUST DO THESE THINGS to Become a Christian

Becoming a Christian, Saved, Born Again, In Christ, or becoming a new creature all talk about salvation.

1) You must believe and confess that Jesus is the son of God. John 8:24 Jesus said you must believe that He is the Christ the Son of the living God. Matthew 10:32-33Acts 8:36-37 further tells us to confess that Jesus is God’s son.

2) Luke 13:3 Jesus said you must repent of your sins.

3) Mark 16:16 Jesus said you must be baptized.

4) Live faithfully unto death1 John 1:2

Therefore, as a new creature, a Christian, we will live faithfully unto death and then arise to live forever with God. In conclusion, this is the God who loves you, who wants you to be his child. You can become the child of a King!

Won’t you heed His word?
