Baptized – Requirement

Jesus did It

Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him. Matthew 3:13. So don’t you think you should follow his lead?

Jesus Commanded It

Go ye therefore and make disciples of all nations, then baptized them in the name of the Father and the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the world. Matthew 28:19-20.

We are required to follow the commands of Jesus Christ, Therefore, baptism is required to become a Christian.

The Apostles Followed Jesus’ Command 

Peter Taught It

Then Peter said to them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:38.

Philip Preached It

So, he commanded the chariot to stand still, and Philip and the eunuch went down into the water, and he baptized him. Acts 8:12.

Baptized – Peter Taught the Gentiles

“Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit as we have? And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord.” Acts 10:47-48.

Paul Believed and was Baptized

Ananias said to Paul, And, now why wait, arise and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord. Acts 22:16.

Peter’s Thoughts on Baptism

The like figure whereunto even baptism does also save us, not the washing of the filth of the flesh, but an answer of a good conscience toward God, by the resurrection of Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 3:21.

Due to some gatherings not teaching baptism as a requirement for Christianity, some folks will not reach heaven. As a result, it is incumbent for believers to teach the true word of God. So, as this article explains the importance of baptism, you now know the truth. Therefore, baptism is a key requirement to become a Christian.

Baptized – Consider what Jesus Commanded

Therefore, “Go, preach the gospel to every creature, he that believes and is baptized shall be saved; and he that does not believe shall be damned.” That is what Jesus said! Mark 16:16.

Becoming a Christian, Saved, Born Again, In Christ, or becoming a new creature all talk about salvation.

1) You must believe and confess that Jesus is the son of GodJohn 8:24 Jesus said you must believe that He is the Christ the Son of the living God. Matthew 10:32-33Acts 8:36-37 further tells us to confess that Jesus is God’s son.

2) Luke 13:3 Jesus said you must repent of your sins.

3) Mark 16:16 Jesus said you must be baptized.

4) Live faithfully unto death1 John 1:2

As a new creature, a Christian, we will live faithfully unto death and then arise to live forever with God. This is the God who loves you, who wants you to be his child. You can become the child of a King!
