Save you from Sin?
Things that can’t Save you from Sin
Save you from sin, it’s what everyone needs. From the Hebrew writer, we read in Hebrews 10:4 “For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and the blood of goats should take away sins.” Therefore, we learn from this passage that it takes more to cleanse from sin than from the blood of bulls and goats.
Good Works Can’t Save You from Sin
While many people in their life has many good works that they can claim, are our works good enough to save? The answer is NO! The conclusion comes from Paul, who writes in Ephesians 2:9 “Not of works, lest any man should boast.” From the words of Jesus in Matthew 7:21-23, Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have we not cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works? Therefore, we see from the words of Jesus, that it takes more than good works to save.
Laws of Moses Can’t Save you from Sin
What about the law of Moses? Could that law save? If so, why was it taken out of the way and nailed to the cross? Colossians 2:14 says it “the old law,” was nailed to the cross. Paul wrote in Galatians 2:16 “Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law.” Consequently, the law of Moses cannot save us.
While there are things that some believe that can save them eternally. Many are deceived in that belief. Yet in 1 Peter 1:18 it is clearly stated “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation, by tradition from your fathers…”..READ ON—-Vs. 19 “But with the precious blood of Christ…”
Only the Blood of Christ can Save you from Sin
As a result, we now know that we are not saved by: Blood of bulls and goats, or by our good works, or by the works of the law, and by silver and gold. BUT BY THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST. So the question is then, how are we saved by and how do we contact that blood? In conclusion, in Revelation 1:5 Unto Him that loved us and has washed us from our sins in His own blood. Jesus shed His blood in His death. John 19:34, and Paul said in Romans 6:3 we are baptized into His death, where His blood was shed.
Finally, we are buried with him in baptism, raised to walk in a new life, saved from sin, by the blood of Christ. Have you been washed in the blood of Christ? If we can help you, please let us know.
