Gospel

Gospel required to be Preached

There was a time when preachers of the gospel preached the fundamentals of the gospel. They preached what men must do to be saved. No young person who “grew up” in the church was left with any doubt about the necessity of obedience. As a result, if you walked into a classroom where young people were taught the gospel, you would most likely see these letters sketched on the chalkboard: H-B-R-C-B. You knew what it meant: Hear, Believe, Repent, Confess, and be Baptized. Therefore, make no mistake about it, young people understood what to do to be saved.

Gospel teaches One Church

Furthermore, there was clear, unmistakable teaching about the church. Jesus promised to build the church. (Matthew 16:18), he was the foundation (1 Corinthians 3:11), the church was established on Pentecost (Acts 2), it was purchased by the blood of Christ (Acts 20:28). Jesus is the Savior of the body (Ephesians 5:23), and there is but one body (1 Corinthians 12:20; Ephesians 4:4-6).

Gospel doesn’t allow Denominations – One Church only, Christ’s Church

Because of the gospel one could not attend Bible classes or hear what came forth from the pulpit without understanding the difference between the church and denominationalism. A denomination is a religious group of people that are guided by men who started that religious group. The church of Christ is not a denomination in any way, it was built by Christ and follows only the Bible that show its owner and foundation. Hence, the church of Christ is where Christ add the saved too. (Acts 2:47). He is the Savior of the body, which is the church. (Ephesians 5:23), (Colossians 1:18).

Furthermore, as one becomes a Christian, we have the epistles, beginning with the book of Romans and through all the epistles. As a result, in these letters to the churches, it tells us how to live as a Christian, and to enjoy the promises of God.

YOU MUST DO THESE THINGS to Become a Christian

Becoming a Christian, Saved, Born Again, In Christ, or becoming a new creature all talk about salvation.

1) You must believe and confess that Jesus is the son of God. John 8:24 Jesus said you must believe that He is the Christ the Son of the living God. Matthew 10:32-33Acts 8:36-37 further tells us to confess that Jesus is God’s son.

2) Luke 13:3 Jesus said you must repent of your sins.

3) Mark 16:16 Jesus said you must be baptized.

4) Live faithfully unto death1 John 1:2

Therefore, as a new creature, a Christian, we will live faithfully unto death and then arise to live forever with God. In conclusion, this is the God who loves you, who wants you to be his child. You can become the child of a King!

Won’t you heed His word?
