Changing World

Hold on to God in this Changing World

In this changing world, Our nation we live in is changing. The influence of evil is growing. Our places of work are not safe. The schools struggle to keep our children safe. Our neighborhoods have drugs and gangs. Our homes are burglarized. Furthermore, now our places of worship are not safe.

Christians should not be surprised. The apostle John wrote that the whole world lies in wickedness, 1 John 5:19. Paul said, “But evil men and imposters will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived, 2 Timothy 3:13.

What has changed?

Changing world, in deed. Prayer in schools has changed. Corporal punishment for misbehaving children has changed. Convictions about keeping marriage vows and divorce have changed. Attitudes about fornication and cohabitation without marriage have changed. The practice of both mom and dad raising children has changed. Homosexuality is no longer the hidden shame it once was. The standards of integrity have changed. Most of all, respect for life has changed as well as respect for the Giver of life, and respect for God’s word.

Changing World vs God’s Stability

Although the world and this nation is changing, the things that truly matter have not changed for those who wholly trust in God. For people of faith their purpose has not changed, that is to glorify God. God’s Book has not changed. God charged us to preach the gospel to the lost, Mark 16:15,16. And to edify the saved. Romans 14:19. “Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.” The hope for God’s people has not changed, Hebrews 6:19,20. Hebrews 13:8 also tells us something else that has not changed. “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” God’s vengeance upon the wicked has not changed, Romans 2:5-10. God’s promise of eternal life for those washed in His Son’s blood has not changed: “And this is the promise that He has promised us—eternal life, 1 John 2:25.

Therefore dear people, do not allow the evil of this world to discourage you. God is far superior to the worst evil that Satan can pour out upon you. TRUST in Him and in His Son for as long as you have breath in your body, and the God of peace and of grace will lead you to His eternal home.

To be Saved and become a Christian – YOU MUST DO THESE THINGS

Becoming a Christian, Saved, Born Again, In Christ, or becoming a new creature all talk about salvation.

1) You must believe and confess that Jesus is the son of God. John 8:24 Jesus said you must believe that He is the Christ the Son of the living God. Matthew 10:32-33, Acts 8:36-37 further tells us to confess that Jesus is God’s son.

2) Luke 13:3 Jesus said you must repent of your sins.

3) Mark 16:16 Jesus said you must be baptized.

4) Live faithfully unto death. 1 John 1:2

As a new creature, a Christian, we will live faithfully unto death and then arise to live forever with God. This is the God who loves you, who wants you to be his child. You can become the child of a King!

Won’t you heed His word?
