Number One Priority

Our Number One Priority

The Lawyer asked Jesus, “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the law”? Matthew 22:36. Jesus said, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind and Him only shall you serve.” The first and great commandment ought to be the top priority for every follower of God. There should be nothing that takes precedence over this commandment. It must be on our minds at the beginning of our day, and at the end of day and in between.

In like manner, the number one work of Jesus Christ must take the highest priority in every Christian’s life as well. Jesus’ #1 one work was not healing people’s blindness, or leprosy, or casting out demons. His # one work was not to make people “feel good about themselves.” His #1 work was not to judge the world. John 12:47 “And if anyone hears My words and does not believe, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world.” Jesus’ #1 work was to seek and save the lost. Luke 19:10.

This is Personal

Just one soul is worth the blood of the spotless Lamb of God. But bring this home; make it personal. God believed that your soul was worth the blood of His Son. The blood of Christ, purchased the church that we are a part of. In order to accomplish the mission of the church a person must first have an open heart to accept God’s priority and make it your own. Second, he must have an open mind. The mind must be open to God’s Word in order to teach it to others. Third, we must have open eyes to see open doors.

Chirstians’ Duty

Support for God’s work is every Christian’s duty. Support for Jesus’ number one priority should also be my number one priority. May every member of this congregation make it their priority to be excited for God’s priorities.

Where are our priorities?

To be Saved and become a Christian – YOU MUST DO THESE THINGS

Becoming a Christian, Saved, Born Again, In Christ, or becoming a new creature all talk about salvation.

1) You must believe and confess that Jesus is the son of God. John 8:24 Jesus said you must believe that He is the Christ the Son of the living God. Matthew 10:32-33, Acts 8:36-37 further tells us to confess that Jesus is God’s son.

2) Luke 13:3 Jesus said you must repent of your sins.

3) Mark 16:16 Jesus said you must be baptized.

4) Live faithfully unto death. 1 John 1:2

As a new creature, a Christian, we will live faithfully unto death and then arise to live forever with God. This is the God who loves you, who wants you to be his child. You can become the child of a King!

Won’t you heed His word?
